Manchester United's Wayne Rooney may miss out on Old Trafford sendoff

Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he is ready for Manchester United's appearance in the Europa League final - but he will probably have to towel off first. "I don't know about Wayne or not - he played 90 minutes in the last match, so probably not".

With an eye on the big prize next Wednesday when the Red Devils take on Ajax in the Europa League final, Mourinho has made a decision to give his first-team squad some much needed rest on the final day of the Premier League season.

Centre-back - Axel Tuanzebe: It's rather unbelievable how José Mourinho only left it until his squad was hit by an injury crisis to hand Axel Tuanzebe his full debut for the Manchester United first-team bearing in mind the Congolese-born England worldwide has looked enormous captaining the under 23 side for such a long period of time.

Centre-back - Eric Bailly: Eric Bailly will be a big miss in the Europa League final after getting sent off in the semi-final home leg against Celta Vigo but because of this it has meant that he's featured in all of the Red's league fixtures during the league run-in.

The 119-time capped England worldwide has since gone on to score 253 goals in 557 appearances for United and he has helped his team lift five Premier League trophies alongside a Champions League, FA Cup and three League Cups. He has being absent owing to his father's death.

Demetri Mitchell, Scott McTominay, Josh Harrop, Matthew Willock and Zachary Dearnley are also set to be involved in Sunday's squad, along with 16-year-old Angel Gomes.

Marouane Fellaini is having a hamstring injury assessed, while Chris Smalling is set to be fit for Wednesday's Europa League final despite a "small problem" keeping him out against Palace. "They are a Champions League team, they come from the Champions League, I always disagree with it". That is special and if I stop now and look at it and think about it I am proud that I reached to play for a club like Manchester United. I think a team shouldn't play two Europe competitions in the same season, they should go home. I think that's it.

"Obviously there is a big difference of quality, strength, experience between them and good players, experienced players like Crystal Palace have".
