Tottenham's Son Heung-min named top Premier Leaguer for April

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: "I can not wait for next season to start".

"It would be a disgusting thing if they went but you can not live your life worrying about one or two people holding you to ransom, if you like, for the benefit of the club".

He is the second Tottenham player to win it twice in a season, joining Harry Kane, who completed the feat in the 2014-15.

Could we have gotten back into the game without the dive penalty shout?

"We were so close again this season, but like last season it was not enough", he said. "On July 3, for pre-season, I will be here", he told reporters ahead of Tottenham's Thursday game at Leicester City. It's the first time I've scored four goals and it was a good moment to do it.

With expectations rising under Pochettino though, it could be become more hard to follow that strategy as supporters and the board will naturally want immediate success and so it's certainly going to be a hard balancing act with signing top players to take them to the next level.

"I don't see any excuse for any of our players leaving".

The two Englishmen were also nominated for the for the PFA Young Player of the Year, with Alli picking up the award for the second season in the row, while Kane also missed out on the PFA Player of the Year. There have been reports that clubs in the Premier League and around Europe are interested in Kane, along with the likes of Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld.

Pochettino added: 'All the players that we want to stay next season will stay. Tottenham is creating a very special environment that is not the final product, still - because there are many things to improve - but I think we are in a very good way.

"Those three are key to go into the new stadium and I think it's impossible that Daniel Levy will send a message to the fans, to the football club, that we are retreating going to Wembley next year and beyond into the new stadium".
