Pippa Middleton marries in lavish, semi-royal wedding

The sequel to that fairytale?

Pippa and Matthews, who first started dating in 2012, announced their engagement in July. She was basically the M.V.P. of bridesmaids in her Alexander McQueen sheath, but today, she finally turned in the bridesmaid dress for a bridal gown.

William, the second in line to the throne, arrived with his brother Prince Harry at St Mark's Church in Englefield, a quiet rural village west of London near the Middleton family home.

And it just may spark rumors of another royal wedding in the wings.

Pippa and James' wedding will reportedly be £250,000 or $325,760.

The Duchess of Cambridge let her sister shine on her big day, opting to avoid the crowds and press prior to the ceremony.

Other members of the royal family were of course in attendance, including the Duchess of Cambridge, who wore a peach dress with matching fascinator.

William and Kate's son Prince George will act as page boy while their daughter Princess Charlotte will be one of the bridesmaids.

Fashion commentators speculated about the fashion choice of Prince Harry's girlfriend, actress Meghan Markle, ahead of the event, but contrary to expectation she is not believed to have attended the church service. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla also plan to miss the event, which is drawing only the younger royals.

Myka Meier, founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette, tells PEOPLE that while there is no formal "no ring, no bring" rule, it isn't surprising that Markle didn't get an invite to the church wedding as Middleton would likely want to keep her actual wedding small.

There was plenty of royalty attending what was being called the society wedding of the year.

Three-year-old Prince George will be page boy, and 2-year-old Princess Charlotte will be a flower girl.

Now, on to what everyone has been waiting with bated breath to see: Pippa's wedding dress. "We were so busy with this [the Middleton commission] and couture orders that we didn't have the time or means to get a full collection together for January". Classic, chic, and totally Pippa, this gown is gorgeous and well worth the wait and all that hype.

"The dress is constructed with a cap sleeve, high neckline and features a corseted bodice with draping to the front and a heart-shaped detail at the back".

Throw into the mix the most high-profile appearance yet of Queen Elizabeth's grandson Prince Harry with his US actress girlfriend and a future British king acting as page boy, Middleton's marriage to financier James Matthews has sparked a press frenzy with papers poring over the wedding plans.

As usual, the dress is the best-kept secret, rumored to be a creation by a hip British designer.
