Comey's efforts failed when Trump finally noticed him and pulled him in for an uncomfortable embrace. Reines then jokingly grabs Clinton to hug her as she heads toward the debate lectern.
Reines tweeted a video of his "favorite moment from debate prep", featuring Hillary Clinton and a Trump stand-in. In the video, Clinton can be seen dodging an attempt at a hug from "Trump".
New details emerged this week about President Trump using a hug as a power move meant to make the recipient of the squeeze appear more friendly with him than they actually are.
So if Trump really feels as though Clinton and Obama were breaking the law, why hasn't he asked Jeff Sessions to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate those matters? Clinton was practicing her technique of greeting her opponent before a debate.
In debate prep footage recorded in September, Reines played the role of Trump as the handsy creep going in for the hug when the two candidates traditionally would shake hands.
"Not easy to avoid the unwanted Trump hug, sometimes it even takes practice", Reines tweeted.
Former White House officials under both Republican and Democratic administrations took aim May 17 at President Donald Trump's alleged interference with a federal investigation into Russia's involvement in the 2016 presidential election.
In fact, during Trump's campaign he stated, "If I win, I am going to instruct my Attorney General to get a special prosecutor to look into your (Hillary Clinton) situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception".
