An Amber Alert has been issued Friday for a 1-year-old boy out of San Francisco, the California Highway Patrol said.
Lam is in police custody and the tan 2000 Toyota Corolla that had been the subject of the Amber Alert has been impounded. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
The suspect in the abduction is 30-year-old Jason Lam; police describe Lam as Asian, 5'3, weighing 145 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
It was unclear when the boy was due back.
The CHP has issued an Amber Alert in San Francisco for a 21-month-old boy who has been abducted by his father.
Bangoura was reportedly abducted on May 12.
The California Highway Patrol said Friday that the boy, Makai Bangoura, is about 3 feet tall (nearly 1 meter) and weighs 40 lbs (18 kilograms).
Before going missing, Makai had last been seen at 3 p.m. Thursday in San Francisco.
Relatives of Lam said he recently experienced mental breakdowns, according to officials.
No other details were immediately available.
