Fire Chaplain Danny Ringer said one person died in the storm.

"[Lots of houses] are missing roofs, [there's] severe damage to nearly all of them", Holland said.

ELK CITY Leaders with the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO) and its Disaster Relief (DR) organization were in Elk City on Wednesday, meeting with other emergency management leaders to talk about tornado relief efforts.

There were no storm shelters at the trailer park, but the designated storm shelter is the Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School/Middle School.

"It was just chaos".

"We're alive. That's the main thing", he said.

Even those who were not home at the time of the tornado were still on edge, like Misty La Rue.

She said there was no warning when the tornado hit.

Some people said they followed his advice and were caught in major traffic jams on highways in central Oklahoma as a tornadic storm approached Oklahoma City. Gusts of 85 miles per hour were recorded at the weather service's office in Valley, west of Omaha.

In addition to damaged homes, others were without power.

The winds can scatter around debris left behind from prior storms this week and turn them into risky projectiles, potentially causing additional damage to trees, power lines and structures.

The National Weather Service reported 20 tornadoes in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Wisconsin on Tuesday. A dozen more were severely damaged and gas and electricity to the park had to be shut down for safety reasons.

The storms are expected to continue into Wednesday, but Matt Brickman, CBS Minnesota meteorologist said that drier, cooler conditions are expected to move in by Thursday.

"There is definitely the potential for all the severe weather hazards", including tornadoes and hail, Hultquist said.

NSW's Smith said another round of severe storms is forecast Thursday and Friday.
