2 future British kings attend Pippa's wedding

The bride, who looked tanned and toned, had managed to keep her wedding gown a secret until she arrived - a bespoke Giles Deacon wedding gown, crafted to create the impression of being seamless.

The scene was reminiscent of Catherine's wedding to Prince William, where the couple delighted crowds outside Buckingham Palace in London, when they appeared in an Aston Martin convertible decorated with a Just Married sign.

The event had been at risk of being overshadowed by the most high-profile appearance yet of Prince Harry's girlfriend, Meghan Markle.

The best man was the groom's brother, former Made In Chelsea regular and reality television personality Spencer Matthews, who is dating Donna Air. The dress featured cap sleeves, a high neckline, and heart-shaped detail in the back. Deacon said the lace bodice was embroidered with pearl details over a layered organza-and-tulle underskirt.

"(It was) a privilege to show the craftsmanship that my team produces in London and a real testament to Pippa's support of British fashion", he said.

Queen Elizabeth's sister, Princess Margaret, also selected young attendants as bridesmaids at her 1960 wedding as did the queen's daughter-in-law, Sophie Wessex, in 1999.

Tennis star Roger Federer and his wife Mirka were on the guest list too.

Markle may not have been at the ceremony, but word has it that she'll attend tonight's reception.

The Duchess of Cambridge took a supporting role in the society wedding of the year, helping the bride arrange her dress before she walked down the aisle and making sure her kids George, 3, and Charlotte, 2, did their part in the wedding party as, respectively, page boy and bridesmaid.

"It really emphasizes her waist", says Peta Hunt, editor-at-large, You & Your Wedding Magazine.

Kate Middleton isn't the only married Middleton sister now.

Prince William and Prince Harry arrived together wearing formal suits.

Middleton came to the church accompanied by her father Michael in a vintage convertible.

William's cousin Princess Beatrice also attended, as did 18-time Grand Slam victor Federer and his wife Mirka, reflecting Middleton's keen interest in tennis.

Middleton, whose sister is the Duchess of Cambridge, was to marry hedge fund manager James Matthews on Saturday.

After the church service, guests were invited to a reception at a nearby stately home, Englefield House, where a flypast by a World War II-era Spitfire plane was reportedly planned.

The airspace above both villages has been closed to prevent intrusive press crews from flying overhead or launching drones to get video footage.
