The Nets finished with the NBA's worst record this past season at 20-62, but had traded away their selection in the draft to the Celtics as part of the deal four years ago that saw Boston send stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets in a blockbuster deal for multiple first-round picks. However, that didn't stop people from speculating that Paul George wants the Celtics to trade the no. 1 pick for him.
"He's excited", Thomas said, then appeared to catch himself.
Isaiah Thomas said he's talked with Markelle Fultz since Boston landed the first overall pick in Tuesday's draft lottery.
The last player selected in the 2011 NBA Draft, Thomas has developed into one of the league's top scorers since joining the Celtics two years ago.
Fultz is such a talented shot-creator, something the Celtics are in desperate need of to take the offensive burden off of Thomas.
If the Celtics don't want to draft, can they go out and trade it? He finished third in the National Basketball Association in scoring this season with 28.9 points per game on 46.3 percent shooting, and he's helped engineer Boston's deepest playoff run since the days of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. As a team with an All-NBA point guard already, it seems like they could possible trade the pick. Thomas also stated that he believes they could together thrive as teammates. One of their biggest issues all season has been rebounding, so they should be looking for rebounders that can be traded for and are not too expensive.
LeBron James has become quite familiar with the Boston fan base over the years.
