Amazon's new ranking system won't count that toward a book's popularity.
"Adding our magazines such as Ideal Home and Woman's Weekly to Prime Reading means we can now offer our engaged readers even more choice, better access to our content and the opportunity to discover even more magazines from a range of different interests".
When friends make a book recommendation, they recommend books they are really reading and loving.
The most renowned is the ability to have free next day delivery, but you also get access to numerous other services including the Amazon Prime Instant Video streaming service.
The stories behind the books: When exploring Amazon Charts, readers can browse fun insights into how other readers are reacting to each book.
Every week, Amazon will publish the top 20 fiction and non-fiction books that are being read (using Kindles and Audible data) as well as the top 20 fiction and non-fiction books that are being sold through its marketplace for Kindle, print, and audio.
"Amazon Charts is exactly what we need", said Patricia Cornwell.
Customers can now also stay up to date on what the latest trending books are with Amazon Charts on Alexa. Amazon doesn't say how often titles will rotate out of Prime Reading, which suggests that it may be up to the author or publishing house.
Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking.
All readers require is a Kindle or the Kindle app on one of today's modern screens or the company's own Fire tablets, plus, of course, the Prime subscription which now stands at £79 a year or £7.99 a month.
