WWE SmackDown Ratings, Viewership (5/16/17): Another New Low For 2017

Let's see if Orton gets to win one of his big battles. The Singh brothers try to get involved, but AJ calls them out, unfortunately it's enough of distraction to allow Jinder to lay Styles out. Nevertheless, we will be here and we look forward to hearing from you as well!

All six participants for Monday's 6-woman tag team match will be in the ring at the same time for a contract signing tonight. Styles then told Mahal that the latter should focus on his fight with the former for tonight. Orton will defend his WWE Championship against Mahal on Sunday. Mahal finishes off AJ with the Cobra clutch slam and gets the pin. How will things play out when they take on Charlotte, Naomi, and Becky Lynch, and more importantly, what role will James Ellsworth play in all this.

Corbin has dominated numerous superstars he's been in the ring with, it'll take a lot for Orton to make sure he's fresh going into Monday's title match.

The show kicked off with U.S. champion Kevin Owen. I know Mahal is being pushed for the Indian market but American (and international) fans are going to see him as someone who was just another jobber to the stars for years. Naomi vs. Carmella. Just once, I wish I could say no tables were harmed during this contract signing. Fandango caught him with a heel kick.

Post-match, The Usos walked out and cut a promo about how they wrestle for the Tag Team Titles.

We're back with Corbin in control of Orton. Orton hit a powerslam then hit a DDT off the second rope. How many times have we had matches that are interrupted multiple times with Michael Cole spouting "as RAW rolls on" and the viewer sits through commercials only to come back with lesser interest in the bout than before? It's an expected finish to a rather mundane program.

The final hype ups for the brand exclusive PPV on this Sunday were built on the show with two main event matches.
