Popular TV and film actor Reema Lagoo dies at 59

Known for her power-packed performances, the actress breathed her last at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to a cardiac arrest. "Shrimaan Shrimati" and "Tu Tu Main Main" were among her popular TV serials.
Actor Boman Irani said: "Our very dear Reema Lagoo is no more". Some of her best Bollywood movies include Hum Apke Hai Kaun, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Main Pyaar Kiya, and Kal Ho Na Ho. Her son-in-law Vinay Waikul confirmed her death to the media in the morning.
Lagoo grabbed her first big break in 1988 with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla.
Shattering the image of loving and caring Indian mother depicted in cinema, Reema Lagoo showed the world how to be a baller mom in order to bring her criminal child on right path - even if it means shooting him bloody dead. Her last screen appearance was in the Marathi film Katyar Kaljat Ghusali.
She had acted in several films, both Hindi and Marathi. She played Shah Rukh Khan's mother in Kal Ho Na Ho.
Perhaps the most celebrated mother of the Indian cinema, actress Reema Laagoo passed away at 3 a.m. on Thursday.
She was born Nayan Khadbade in 1958. Lately she was seen in hit Star Plus show Naam Karan. Reema Lagoo won four Filmfare awards in the supporting actress category.
Reema Lagoo's real name was Nayan Khadbade.
In this film, Reema spilled an ocean of emotions all over the silver screen as she played a mother who finds herself divided between her children.
