Raptors PG Lowry will opt out of final year of contract

Kyle Lowry was on the bench with a sprained ankle yesterday while his team got punted out of the playoffs by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second consecutive season.

23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers reacts to a call by an official in the second half of Game Four of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Toronto Raptors during the 2017 NBA Playoffs at Air Canada Centre on Sunday, in Toronto, Canada.

"You have to give them credit, they are a heck of a 3-point-shooting team", DeRozan said.

Last year in the Conference Finals, the Raptors pushed the Cavaliers to six games, but this year they couldn't avoid the sweep.

"We have done things here for four years and we have had a level of success but how do you take it to another level is what I'm talking about".

The Cavs won their 11th-straight playoff game and are the first team to have back-to-back sweeps to open the playoffs in consecutive years.

Kyrie Irving added 27 points for the Cavaliers, including 11 in the fourth quarter, and contributed nine assists. The Cavs burned them for 16 Sunday. "Keep pressing them, go up 50 if we can".

With the win, the Cavs will await the victor of the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards.

Ibaka, 27, said he enjoyed his time in Toronto after coming over in a February 14 trade with Orlando.

D'Antoni guided the Rockets to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and third-best record in the National Basketball Association at 55-27, and his team broke the league's regular-season record with 1,181 3-pointers. The Raptors took their first fourth-quarter lead of the series but couldn't avoid their fourth straight loss. If the Wizards win, the Cavs will host the first two games. "One thing about Case, Case is one hell of a person outside of a coach". "And at the end of the day we got the (win)". The All-Star point guard just turned 31-years-old and the Raptors might not want to commit to him with a max contract over a long term. "The guy we just lost to (James), he's 32 years old, he's still playing at a 25-year-old pace".

Irving responded with a 3 and, following a missed shot by DeRozan, added a pair of free throws to put Cleveland up 97-92 at 5:54. "We just wanted to try to get defensive stops while he was in the zone and we were able to do that".

Not only are the Cavs 8-0 so far in the playoffs, they have outscored the Pacers and the Raptors by 77 points. Tucker, acquired at the trade deadline to beef up Toronto's front line, are free agents. He believes he can, although he also felt it was a better question to ask upper management, not a player since he feels they will automatically say yes.

Casey tried to preach the positives, but acknowledged that his team's performance hadn't been good enough. Those teams now are even at 2-2 in the other best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Bradley Beal (29 points) and John Wall (27) both impressed for the Wizards.

No Lowry: P.J. Tucker started his first game in the playoffs in place of Lowry.

His lay-up with four minutes left had Cleveland up by eight.

Trailing 53-48 before the run, Washington led 74-53 on Porter's layup with 5 minutes left in the third.

The two teams meet on Wednesday night in Boston, before a potentially decisive Game 6 in Washington on Friday.
