Local fans unleash the force for 'Star Wars' day

While the force is with so many of us on Thursday, there's one particular fan and Star Wars actor, Riz Ahmed, who's celebrating May the 4th by one-upping all of us. Ahmed, one of the stars of Death Star origin story Rogue One, shared a photo to mark the day, and it may be impossible to top.

May the 4th be with you. The blueprint for the hero's journey, as laid out by Campbell, was a huge influence on Lucas and the characters he created for Star Wars.

"Today is an auspicious day for Star Wars because Fantasy Flight Games makes a game called Star Wars Destiny and a new expansion for it just came out, purposefully on May the 4th and people are pretty excited about that", said Johnson.

While Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid tributes to Lucasfilm and his favourite movie from the franchise by sharing a message on Twitter, the Australian Senate took the opportunity to tease the House of Representatives by looping them into it.

Disney, who own the film franchise, are hosting a number of events at their parks, including special Star Wars Nights on May 5 and 6 at Disneyland Paris.
