Inside Justin Bieber's Mumbai concert: Biebermania and a lot of 'Purpose'

Approximately 50,000 fans turned out to see the pop star at DY Patil Stadium.

But not all left the venue with all praises for the concert. While everyone was extremely happy and excited to see their singing idol perform, there was one celebrity couple who had to turn back home and miss the concert!

A number of Justin Beiber's fans, many of whom had paid thousands of rupees to watch his first ever concert in Mumbai, were left furious and disappointed after discovering that the pop sensation was lip-syncing some of his songs.

"Hello India", Justin Bieber said to the crowd of Beliebers, who waited for hours altogether in scorching heat to watch him perform on a enormous stage enhanced by graphics as well as enlivened with startling fireworks and the rousing response of the audience.

The singer performed songs like "Love yourself", "Baby", "Company", "No sense", "Right now", "As long as you love me", "Let me love you".

Dressed casually in a white t-shirt and black shorts, the 23-year-old Canadian singer made a stunning entry to the stage. DJ Sartek, DJ Zaeden and Norwegian DJ Alan Walker will be the openers for the event.

Musician Sona Mohapatra also took a critical view of the lip-syncing, and expressed her views - much to the consternation of Beliebers - on her Twitter and Facebook pages. Bipasha told the media, "We didn't get security with us and it is too crowded so we are leaving".

Apart from local police and the singer's own security detail, Salman Khan's bodyguard Shera has also been roped in to ensure Bieber's safety.

Bieber landed here on a chartered flight early on Wednesday.

Ahead of his performance, the singer interacted with underprivileged children and handed them 100 passes for his concert.

The global pop sensation is reportedly setting off to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and will also visit Delhi in the next two days.
