Royal family releases new photograph to mark 2nd birthday of Princess Charlotte

Kensington Palace has published a new photo of little Charlotte who will celebrate her two years this Tuesday, May 2.

Born in 2015 to parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte is little sister to Prince George, and is fourth in line to the throne, after her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and brother Prince George. The Duchess, a skilled photographer who is responsible for many of her family's most memorable images, captured her daughter outside their home in Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England. However, like her older brother Prince George, three, Kensington Palace have released a new image taken by the Duchess of Cambridge to mark her second birthday.

A handsome, elegant photo, taken by her mother who is known to have become quite a photographer in recent years, sharing her shots on Twitter rather than using paid photographers.

A new picture of Princess Charlotte enjoying the outdoors, taken by her mother, has been released ahead of her second birthday.

In the photograph, Charlotte is wearing a yellow Fair Isle cardigan with blue sheep around the neck and her hair is pulled to the side in a barrette.

We love how her blue bow adds just the right pop of color to the pic.

She was named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana in tribute to her grandmother Diana, Princess of Wales and her great-grandmother the Queen.

Princess Charlotte's big day will probably be just like any other toddler's, celebrity party planner Antonia Voss told MailOnline. There are not many cases where photos have seen the light of publicity.

Children's party planner Antonia Voss has revealed to FEMAIL what she predicts from the princess' second birthday celebrations.

Kate Middleton took a series of portraits to mark Charlotte's first birthday previous year.

The pair made headlines a fortnight ago when they joined Prince Harry to candidly discuss the impact of Princess Diana's death on her young sons.

"I really enjoyed the opportunity to take these photographs of Prince George".

Mom and dad the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and uncle Prince Harry all have the day off official Royal engagements, so they're likely to be around for the occasion.

She was also seen several times while with her parents during a tour in Canada. How do you think she and the royal fam will celebrate?
