Emma Watson wins MTV's first gender-neutral acting award

But Piers interrupted to say: 'Yes, what will now happen is that women will probably win a lot less awards because they've made them gender neutral and there's more male actors, so actually in trying to get equality you end up with more inequality - it's a masterpiece'.

The ceremony, hosted by comedian Adam Devine, replaced the 25-year reign of the MTV Movie Awards by introducing prizes for shows on television and streaming services. From Millie Bobby Brown crying as she accepted her award to the gender neutral categories, MTV pulled out all the stops this year and brought us a night we all needed.
The presenter launched into a rant on Good Morning Britain regarding the award, saying: "Should we ban the word man from life itself?" This year, the Harry Potter star won the first gender-neutral MTV TV & Movie Award.
Despite dark skies, rain and dime-size hailstones in Los Angeles, turning the red carpet outside Shrine Auditorium into a swamp, the MTV celebration marked the start of the summer entertainment season. There was a big change to this year's format with the categories removing the actor and actress designations and lumping woman and men in one category. "Thank you for educating me in such a patient, inclusive way". She has been mocked rather cruelly - though why she should pay any attention to anything people say on Twitter is beyond me - for making too much of the award, given the award does appear to be a bucket of popcorn.
