Promoter Hearn rules out Joshua vs Fury fight

I believe that in the updated The Ring rankings (which may come out next week), Joshua should be the magazine's champion at heavyweight dislodging Fury.

The 27-year-old is now the hottest ticket in boxing and the UFC president thinks Joshua is a lifesaver for boxing.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed disclosed in Lagos on Tuesday that the Federal Government will invite the newly crowned unified World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Anthony Joshua, to the country.

"I could see him fighting in the Bird's Nest Stadium (Beijing) - and Africa".

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has already made it clear that a Joshua vs. Fury fight is not even close to take place in 2017.

However, he admitted that a match-up with fellow Briton Tyson Fury is the fight that most people want to see and that it seems to be "heading in that direction". "I'm sure Wlad believes he almost had AJ out of there and I know that AJ wants to iron out some mistakes and do a better job next time", Boxing scene quoted Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn as saying. "Rest assured, if we can make it happen, we will make it happen", Hearn said.

The heavyweight rivals have been talking about a match-up since last week when they exchanged barbs on Twitter and Fury challenged Joshua after his victory at Wembley, saying he "can beat AJ with one arm tied behind my back".

American Deontay Wilder watched Joshua's dramatic stoppage win from ringside, as part of the Sky Sports Box Office team, and Espinoza hopes to build a unification clash between the two big-punching world champions. "He is just a pumped-up weightlifter but Klitschko couldn't land one of those hooks on me at all", said Fury, 28. "We all saw (his career) had a life and death situation against Klitschko, but Klitschko couldn't land a glove on me", Fury said.
