Wizards prevail in dicey Game 3

The Boston Celtics fell to the Washington Wizards, 116-89, in a game-3 blowout loss in their conference semifinals matchup on May 4, 2017, at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. I thought that our whole team could have played better.
Although they never trailed, there was plenty of tension, with eight technical fouls handed out and Washington's Kelly Oubre Jr. ejected in the first half for a flagrant foul. In Game 1 Sunday, after a cross-country flight back to Boston from Tacoma, Wash., after attending Chyna's funeral Saturday, Thomas overcame having one of his front teeth knocked out by an inadvertent elbow in a collision with the Wizards' Otto Porter in the first quarter to score 33 points and hand out 9 assists as the Celtics came away on top 123-111.
But if Washington can understand the importance of the moment, the Wizards have every chance of evening this one up and putting the pressure right back on the Celtics.
Washington used its home court advantage to the fullest, taking control of the game early, as the Wizards built a 20-point lead by the end of the first quarter. They still lead the series two games to one, but Thomas was held to just 13 points after scoring 53 in game two.
The Wizards' Kelly Oubre Jr. was tossed out for charging and knocking over Kelly Olynyk after a hard offensive foul in the second quarter, while his teammate Brandon Jennings and the Celtics' reserve Terry Rozier were ejected in the final quarter.
Oubre could face a suspension for his outburst.
Game 4 is on Sunday Night in Washington.
The Jazz will have to hope more of their shots start falling once back home.
We'll have up-to-the-minute scoring and stats here throughout the game.
Popovich said after the game that it didn't look good, and the Spurs' fears were confirmed after an MRI on Thursday.
"We play with attitude when we get down". Celtics guard Avery Bradley said he was sore but expects to play after suffering a hip pointer on a fall in Game 2. "Two teams competing. Whatever bad blood we've had in the season, it's carried over to the playoffs".
"We watched a lot of film and just tried to figure out how we can make adjustments - especially with Isaiah guarding me, or whoever is guarding me trying to attack that side", Porter said.
"They had three guys on me, so I couldn't really do anything", Thomas said. He doesn't need to be great, or even good, he just needs to avoid being a net negative for the Celtics' offense. Jae Crowder chipped in with 14 and Isaiah Thomas had 13. He has had an excellent playoff run, averaging nearly 30 points a game. He shot and made more free throws than anyone else in the league this season. But in game four of what's felt like more like a forty game series there were finally no batters hit by a pitch, no ejections, and we hope, no racial slurs hurled by awful people from the stands of Fenway Park. In Wednesday night's game, there were plenty more technicals to be had. With that in mind Washington routinely brought two or three players towards IT when he had the ball.
