BRAINTREE- A gunman who held off police and shot one officer in the face was found dead when police finally entered his room early Saturday morning.
Police said Delaney is a Marine Corps veteran and has been decorated with several life-saving medals.
Robinson remained barricaded inside the motel until nearly 2 a.m. when police heard shots ring out. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center where he remains.
Braintree Police said the bullet did not go directly into the officer's head, and instead hit his skull following some sort of deflection, according to CBS Boston.
"That's where our focus is".
A spokeswoman for the Motel 6 corporate office said local management will continue to provide police with any assistance needed to continue to investigation.
