Only Modi can resolve Kashmir issue, says Mehbooba

These remarks came a day after Governor N N Vohra met with Modi in Delhi.

National Conference on Sunday said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's "sycophancy was unbecoming" and had "denigrated the sanctity" of the J&K CM's office.
J&K CM said that her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also tried to resolve the Kashmir situation but since then no efforts were made by subsequent governments.
"There was ceasefire (along Indo-Pak border) during Vajpayee's rule".
"Unfortunately Mufti Sahib left us and Vajpayee government is also not there and the situation is back to square one. Subsequently, lava (among Kashmiri youth) kept simmering since 2008 and today we are facing its ramifications", she said.
'Kashmir situation not good, it affects Jammu also.' Jammu has many tourist destinations and trying to develop them, said, Mufti on Congress leader GS Charak's statement that no developmental work done in Jammu.
