Herrera: De Gea Is Staying At United

Reports are claiming that Manchester United have agreed a deal with Spanish capital club Real Madrid for star attacking midfielder James Rodriguez and that deal supposedly involved David de Gea moving to Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid may have to splash 50 million GBP to land the de Gea, multiple reports suggest.

Further, Rodriguez is expected to leave having struggled for playing time under Zinedine Zidane this season, and so from a Madrid perspective, this deal would make flawless sense.

Manchester United have big plans for the summer.

However, Real Madrid still maintain a strong interest in the goalkeeper and have been heavily linked once again over the last month or so.

But, needless to say, Oblak would be a more popular replacement with United fans than the Manchester City goalkeeper, now on-loan at Torino in Italy.

However, his future at Mourinho's side has come into question again after it emerged that Real Madrid have earmarked the signing of a new number one to replace Keylor Navas as the top priority for the coming summer transfer window. The feeling around the club is that the English centre-half is the likelier arrival, with significant progress having already been made on that deal, and initial terms discussed.

United would look to reinvest the money with Manchester City exile Joe Hart, Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak and Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma all considered potential replacements.

"There are few goalkeepers in the world who win you points and David is one of them".
