The Canada-wide recall was triggered by a USA recall that also extended to the brand's Frozen Pancakes, according to a press release from New Jersey-based Pinnacle Foods Inc., which i the parent for Aunt Jemima.
The CFIA says the recalled products were sold to food service accounts nationally, but there have been no reported illnesses.
A number of Aunt Jemima frozen pancakes, waffles and French toast packages are being recalled due to fear of listeria contamination.
According to The Associated Press, listeria can cause fatal infections in children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems.
Distributors and retailers are being notified so they can remove products from US and Mexican store shelves. It does not affect the company's syrups and dry mixes.
If you've purchased any of frozen Aunt Jemima products, you can return them to place of purchase for a full refund. Healthy individuals might suffer fevers and diarrhea, while listeria could cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The company says it has not received reports of anyone getting sick so far. Following is a list of the 17 recalled retail products and their UPC codes.
