Monaco's vaunted attack was blunted by a rock-solid defense that has now conceded only two goals in 11 Champions League games.
"When your goals appear close, that's the moment to pedal even harder", Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri wrote on Twitter before referencing Juve's motto. Buffon produced some saves this evening.
Higuain pounced in the 29th minute, side-footing home after Dani Alves had latched onto his pass down the right before back-heeling the ball back to the Argentina striker as he sprinted into the area.
After Thursday's 2-0 win, a potential final against Real Madrid could be his best chance of lifting the famous trophy.
Monaco will take on Juventus at Stade Louis II - Monaco on 3rd May, with kick-off scheduled for 19:45pm.
Dunphy was critical of the Argentinean forward after the quarter-finals, and indeed at half-time described his performance as "poor" despite his goal separating the sides at the interval.
Monaco attacked relentlessly after the break, with Buffon diving at the feet of Mbappe minutes after his save from Falcao.
"On Buffon, what can I say", Max Allegri said afterwards.
When Thomas Lemar lost possession in his own half and went down hoping for a free-kick, referee Mateu Lahoz let play continue and Marchisio ran in on goal only to see Danijel Subasic save his shot. The Argentine global passed the ball to Alves on the right, before the latter fed Higuain for his second goal of the match.
"We have a huge week coming up", Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini said. Their road to the Champions League semifinal took them through Manchester City, who they beat on away goals with a 6-6 aggregate score, and Borussia Dortmund, who they defeated 6-3. Dybala again started the move, with Alves lofting a ball perfectly into the path of Higuain, who doubled his tally. They will host Monaco in the return leg next Tuesday. Not only is their roster less experienced than any other team in the competition, they are winning games by scoring multiple goals against the best teams in the world.
With numerous young Rouges et Blancs outfit having no experience with the pressure of a title run in, PSG know that they can put the pressure back on Monaco earlier on Saturday with a victory at home to Bastia, now at the bottom of the table.
Monaco failed to heed that warning, though, and they were punished again shortly before the hour mark when Tiemoue Bakayoko was dispossessed on the halfway line.
