Deshaun Watson has chance to win early with Texans

For the Texans first-round draft pick Deshaun Watson, a letter from his biggest supporter brought him to tears.

The Texans were a playoff team without Watson. His mom had her tongue surgically removed as she battled cancer when Watson was a teenager, beating all odds to be there for her son on draft night. Decoud projects as a safety in the National Football League and is a physical player that will help on special teams this season.

One of the major holes entering the draft was along the offensive line, as the draft went along the Texans held true to their board and it wasn't until the 130th pick when they took Julie'n Davenport. Really the only thing that the Texans didn't have heading into the 2017 NFL Draft of tremendous need was a franchise quarterback.

Dunn, a three-time Pro Bowler who was taken with the 12th pick of the 1997 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is one of the most charity-minded players ever to play in the National Football League, with his foundation partnering with Habitat for Humanity to provide home furnishings and down-payment assistance to hundreds of families. "When the chips were down he was able to lead his team to victory". "And I don't even know what to say".

HOW DOES THIS GUY FIT: The Texans needed an outside linebacker after losing John Simon to the Colts in free agency. "I don't think anyone can argue with that". Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is also a Clemson alum, giving the Texans the most Tigers on one team in the NFL. In doing so, Houston exhausted its first-round pick in next year's draft.

In his four seasons as a starter at Gainesville (Ga.) High School, the Red Elephants went 46-10 and won a state championship in his junior year.

The Texans will add two more players on Friday with the 57th overall pick in the second round and the 89th pick in the third round.
