Skype for Windows 10 updated with improvements to screen sharing

Writing yesterday on the Windows 10 blog, Cable said the phased rollout for the Creators Update is starting with newer devices first, as those are likely to have "the best possible update experience".

As the Creators Update continues to be installed on more devices, Microsoft is watching feedback from users to adjust future rollouts, said John Cable, director of program management for Windows servicing and delivery.

The Notification Settings page will now load up more quickly. This takes the output of the Windows audio engine mix, encodes it (as Dolby Digital, DTS, or some other format) and sends it out over a S/PDIF optical link for decoding by an external audio receiver.

Meanwhile, mobile users shouldn't run into the issue where shutting down takes 20 seconds longer than usual because of switching from one network to another anymore.
