Another user Pratiksha Rana said, "Kejriwal wanted clean Delhi and Delhiites took it way too seriously".
Disagreeing with the claim, AAP MLA Alka Lamba also offered to resign from her post and also relinquish all positions in the party taking "responsibility" for the defeat of AAP candidates in her Chandni Chowk constituency.
Modi also dropped many sitting MLAs in assembly elections as he led his party to impressive wins poll after poll.
Even as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was looking at a humiliating defeat in the MCD polls, Bhagwant Mann, one of the four Lok Sabha MPs of the party, said there was no use in finding fault with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Party leaders said the issue of ticket distribution and AAP's campaign strategy was also raised in the meeting, as there was a feeling that the party had failed to 'drive home the message about the government's achievements.'Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Karol Bagh legislator Visheash Ravi said the party leadership made a decision to let bygones be bygones and start working on the ground."The party arrived at a conclusion that all legislators will go back to people and try to gauge public opinion".
The BJP's huge win in the Delhi civic election has sparked speculation whether it will repeat the strategy of denying tickets to incumbent representatives, a tactic often adopted by Narendra Modi as Gujarat chief minister, in the upcoming state polls.
"I have resigned from the post of AAP Delhi Convenor and conveyed to National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal to give this responsibility to someone else", Pandey tweeted. We will analyse the reasons behind our defeat. They also wrote to Kejriwal in March, asking him to respond by May 9, after the Delhi municipal polls. The party had raised similar allegations after the loss in Punjab and Goa. The AAP had bagged 20 seats in the state polls held early this year, much below its expectations. Ajay Maken, who has steered the party's local unit over the last two years, has resigned as the Delhi Pradesh Congress chief. "At present, related evidence (pertaining to EVM manipulation) is being gathered", Mr Ravi said.
