The dispute is where Conley and his accuser first met that night. On the flip side, if he's found to have done what he's accused of doing and a team drafts him, it's essentially a wasted pick. Conley has not been charged. Barring a significant change in the story that involves Conley being cleared of all wrongdoing, the Giants can not take a chance on him this week.
The report states that the woman and Conley eventually walked into the bathroom before Conley allegedly unbuttoned the woman's trousers and pulled them down.
Gareon Conley has been named in a police report from a woman who claims he raped her, and the former Ohio State star insists the allegations are completely fabricated. She decided not to go with her friends and to go with Conley to his room.
The report states the woman declined sex with him before he had sex with her then kicked her out of the room. The woman said she did not want to have a foursome, but she told Conley she wanted to watch the other couple have sex. He said the woman was mad because she was kicked out of the room.
Two of Conley's friends who were also at the hotel told police Conley had no physical contact with the accuser, and they insist the woman was just angry she had been told to leave the room. Cleveland Public Records told Cleveland 19 in a response to our request for the incident report that they were waiting for the report from police. Police attempted to interview the accuser again in the hospital, according to the report, but she did not speak with police there.
She said failing to gather the suspect's statement in a timely manner could hurt the ability to bring criminal charges, if necessary.
This investigation is expected to continue over the next few days into the NFL Draft.
Two years ago, Collins was questioned in connection with a murder.
The draft will be held in Philadelphia from Thursday through Saturday. The bottom line is the National Football League just didn't have enough information about what happened, so he ended up going undrafted and was signed as an undrafted free agent and ended up with the Cowboys. Collins eventually signed with the Dallas Cowboys, with whom he has become a starting guard who missed most of last season because of an injury. Conley's name was never mentioned during the Jones interview.
How does this ongoing investigation impact him heading into this weekend's draft?
