Ivanka Trump, Jim Yong Kim: Investment in Women Unleashes Global Gains

Ivanka Trump was booed as she defended his father's attitude towards women and hailed him as a "tremendous champion of supporting families".

Trump's one-day visit, at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, gave Merkel and other officials face-to-face access with the president's influential daughter at a time when world leaders are still trying to discern where his policies will lead.

The first daughter faced jeers from an unsympathetic audience as she attended the G20 women's summit in Berlin alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel, IMF head Christine Lagarde and others.

Ivanka vowed to stay out of the Oval Office when her dad Donald Trump was inaugurated as US President, but was appointed as an unpaid advisor to the president earlier this month.

IVANKA TRUMP has spoken about how proud she is of her father's advocacy for families and his championing of women in the workplace.

Ivanka Trump, daughter and adviser of U.S. President Donald Trump, arrives for a dinner after she participated in the W20 Summit in Berlin on April 25, 2017.

"He encouraged me and enabled me to thrive".

"Politics is politics, as I'm learning, and there are many different viewpoints and people with different options and perspectives", she said.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Ivanka Trump says letting Syrian refugees into the United States "has to be part of the discussion" on how to deal with people fleeing conflict in the war-torn country.

"Well, certainly not the latter, and I am rather unfamiliar with this role as well, as it is quite new to me", replied Ivanka, a top adviser to her father. Miriam Meckel, editor of German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche asked, "You are first daughter - German audience not familiar - what is your role - to whom are you represented?"

I grew up in a house where there were no barriers to what I could accomplish beyond my own perseverance and my own tenacity. "That said, and while I expressed that sentiment, as a leader of a country, you can't make decisions based on emotion alone, and his decision was incredibly well informed and advised at every level", she said.

Risa Heller, a personal spokeswoman for Ivanka Trump, referred The Post's questions to the White House. "She will not solicit funds", the official said, according to the Post.

"I think there is a global humanitarian crisis that's happening and we have to come together and we have to solve it", she told NBC in an interview aired Wednesday morning.
