MCD Election Results: BJP win due to EVM tampering, says Manish Sisodia

Two exit polls had predicted BJP finishing way ahead of the AAP and the Congress with over 200 of the 270 wards where polling was held.
With move like demonetisation, Modi not only won the number of seats but also won the hearts of people.
The MCD elections are an important addition to the BJP's list of electoral victories this year in state and local polls across the country - it won by a landslide margin the assembly polls in the northern states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh recently. Gujarat is a stronghold of PM Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah and BJP is in power in the state from last 20 years.
"And when he was appointed as the Delhi unit chief, I proposed to spend a night at the Gas Godown slum colony, which he (Tiwari) readily agreed to".
He said that the credit for the BJP's victory will go to everyone involved.
Kejriwal who called BJP "dengue party", now congratulates it! The setback for AAP comes after its defeat in the Goa and Punjab assembly elections in March. More seats in MCD would have ensured its political survival. "This is the victory of Modiji's leadership", he said.
Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia added: "BJP's win was impossible without EVM tampering". "The burst of the political bubble was predictable", he said.
Following the BJP's victory in the MCD polls, Congress leaders like Ajay Maken, Gurudas Kamat and P.C. Chacko announced their resignations from their posts.
"Hope all regional parties will now realise that blind anti-Congressism is not the way".
Kejriwal's former party colleague Yogendra Yadav, who now leads the Swaraj India, wrote an open letter to the chief minister and challenged him to win at least 50 percent seats in the civic polls or step down. Imitating Kejriwal's style of speaking, Mihir Jha went to the social networking site and posted, "MCD election results suggest EVM aur Voter Miley hue hain Ji (the MCD results suggest that the people and the EVMs are working in sync)".
"If you see AAP's report card in terms of state governance, the score isn't really bad. But the Modi wave helped the BJP garner more votes and register a historic win", he told a news agency.
"Parties contest elections all the time; they win and they lose as well, it should not be too worrisome for them".
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members have blamed the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) malpractice for its defeat. Although the party blames EVMs for the defeat and we need to look into the reasons behind the loss, my view is different.
Experts said the BJP, which has been ruling the MCD for a decade, managed to retain control by beating anti-incumbency just by adopting a better strategy, despite being reduced to just three seats in the Delhi assembly polls in 2015, while AAP has lost its sheen.
Kumar Vishwas, another senior AAP leader, criticised the Delhi government for accusations of corruption. Sources said the Congress' appeal is specific to parties like the AAP.
He added that the DCRC had conducted a survey in all the 272 wards of the MCD, interviewing almost 40,000 people for their views.
