'Young Justice' and 'Titans' to Debut on New DC Streaming Service

Not details were confirmed about the new platform, other than that it will "deliver an immersive experience designed just for DC fans", so expect more than Titans and Young Justice to come to the service. But it makes ideal sense, given the fan love, for it to be a launch title for a new DC streaming service.

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are set to kick things off in a big way when their digital service debuts in 2018. The action-packed series revolves around Dick Grayson who emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others.

"Young Justice" hails from executive producers Sam Register, Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman.

Like the '60s comics, the show will be centered around Dick Grayson (as Robin or Nightwing) and a pack of teen superheroes.

Unsurprisingly Greg Berlanti, who also produces every DC show on the CW and Riverdale on top of that is producing Titans. Animation's "Young Justice: Outsiders", the highly anticipated third season of the popular "Young Justice" series, is also ramping up for its first mission next year.

Back in February 2016 TNT announced that it had passed on a live-action Titans series from Warner Bros., with Johns responding at the time saying the project was still very much alive.

Back when it was announced that we would be getting a third season of the cult classic animated series, we had originally speculated that it might be arriving on Netflix.

Berlanti, of course, is the creative force behind the CW/Sky1's The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and DC's Legends Of Tomorrow, as well as the forthcoming Black Lightning. A live-action series based on the incredibly popular but oft-overlooked team of young heroes that has been around in DC Comics since 1965-before getting a company-saving revival in the 1970s-seems both risky and yet far overdue. The show aired on the Cartoon Network for two seasons (2010-2013). Additionally, Phil Bourassa (Young Justice, Justice League Dark) is returning as art director.
