Xavi: Pep wants Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernández has revealed that Pep Guardiola is thinking English and hinted that the Manchester City boss could move for young Tottenham superstar, Dele Alli, in the summer.

It's the second straight YPOY award for Alli, and it's the fifth time in six seasons that a Tottenham Hotspur player has gone home with the award.

"He is a very special player".

DELE ALLI has expressed his pride after becoming just the fourth player ever to be named Young Footballer of the Year by the Professional Footballers' Association for a second successive season.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Alli has scored 16 goals in the English Premier League this season.

"Technically he is the sort of player that Pep likes, the sort of player that suits the style of game that Pep likes his teams to play".

The Tottenham first XI now forms the backbone of the Three Lions team, with Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker all regular starters for the national side. "I'm certain that this summer he will look all over Europe to get players to improve the team".

"I hope he continues to get better week after week, because as an England fan, we want to see these players perform the way he's performing", Beckham added.

"It's a huge honour to be voted the victor of the award again by my fellow players", Alli told his club's official website. He's been one of Tottenham's most important players, and a key part of the reason they're locked in the middle of a legitimate title race with Chelsea. I think he's a better player, he's showing better stats and in my opinion yes, he deserves it.
