The Nintendo palooza begins outside the stores, where the normally red bollards (those giant red spheres that are actually meant to stop stray cars) will be fitted with covers bearing Mario and Luigi's faces.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was created to be played with friends, and thanks to detachable Joy-Cons, a kickstand and split-screen, the Nintendo Switch affords you so many options to do just that. More than 650 stores are going to go into "Mario-mode", in Target's words, bringing some "extra-special fun" to the aisle. But then, Nintendo's Russian site has seemingly leaked the presence of a "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" bundle, which has been spotted by Reddit user Lord_Daenar.
Some (or most, by now) Target stores should already have the new Mario-themed design, with all stores scheduled for a promotional facelift to receive it by the end of this week.
Target said in a statement that it's the first time the company has decorated its carts.
If your shopping experience was ever consumed by the relentless maneuvering of shopping carts, get ready for Target to literally mirror a fantastical motorway. "The current slate of upcoming titles is also looking strong, and we expect Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 to do well".
Nintendo has promised there will be a new shipment of Switch consoles available the day Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes out. Hence, I would say, Mario Deluxe is the best thing to portray the awesomeness of Nintendo Switch.
Are you anxious about unsafe Target racing because of the Mario Kart carts? "As you walk through, motion sensors fire up flashing lights and play Mario's catchy theme song", states a press release for the video game festivities.
We adore you, Target.
OK, that part sounds pretty cool. Once I finally got a copy in my hands, I found myself even more impressed as to how well this game runs.
