Real Madrid snatched a 2-1 comeback win after Christiano Ronaldo scored twice to beat ten-man Bayern Munich in the first leg of UEFA Champions League's quarterfinal on Wednesday.
"It's not the first time and it won't be the last", Ancelotti said of the missed penalty, calling it one of the "small details" which decided the game.
Antoine Griezmann's disputed first-half penalty gave Atletico Madrid a slender 1-0 victory over Leicester City at the Vicente Calderon in Madrid on Wednesday. Neuer then did superbly to tip over a Gareth Bale header but the pendulum swung further away from Bayern when Martínez collected two yellow cards in four minutes.
"We have to find the ten to fifteen percent in Madrid that we lacked this time", demanded Robben.
Ronaldo, the four-time world player of the year, volleyed Real level at the Allianz Arena early in the second half, then reached his milestone by slotting home the victor 13 minutes from time in the first leg. I'm very pleased to be back and that I can play in Madrid. "And to do it against a team as great as Bayern makes it feel even better".
Neuer made two remarkable saves on shots by Ronaldo and Karim Benzema a few minutes apart toward the end of the match in Munich.
"It will be more hard in Madrid, but we still have a chance, we are still alive".
Ronaldo scored in the 47th and 77th minutes after Bayern had taken the lead in the 25th on Arturo Vidal's goal.
But Marcelo has hit back at those who look to criticise his teammate by saying that they are simply jealous of the 31-year-old, who two goals against Bayern have fired Real to the bring of another Champions League semi-final. Real Madrid's confidence is sky-high after their convincing win at Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and they can build on that momentum by taking another step towards the Spanish title when they visit relegation-fighting Sporting Gijon tomorrow.
On Sunday, Marca have claimed it's 100% certain that three Real Madrid stars will be missing from the Bayern game with injury. We're content with the result, but we'd have liked to have scored more.
"It could have finished much higher, but we believe we can still do it".
Four-time world player of the year Ronaldo then slotted in the victor between goalkeeper Manuel Neuer's legs for the victor 13 minutes from time.
