Kawhi Leonard could use some help

Fizdale's rant and subsequent moves have rallied the fan base and the team, giving the Grizzlies some momentum as they try Saturday to even the series at 2-2 against a heavily favored San Antonio Spurs squad.

Mike Conley scored 24 points and added eight assists as Memphis defeated San Antonio 105-94 to climb back in their first-round Western Conference play-off series. He had 35 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, and his career playoff high wouldn't have been possible if the Grizzlies were playing through Gasol and Randolph in the post.

The Memphis Grizzlies center came through, hitting a remarkable shot at the buzzer to give his team an overtime victory on Saturday night. Leonard also tied the game at 108 with 17 seconds left in overtime on a 3 from the left corner.

The San Antonio Spurs can take full control of this series by winning and taking a big 3-1 lead. The Spurs have a couple of days to re-group now and make their own adjustments, while the Grizzlies have a chance to really make things interesting if they can tie the series at two games a piece.

Leonard, who was vital in the Spurs' first two wins, was held in check much more Thursday.

Kawhi Leonard scored 43 on 14 of 30 shooting, while Tony Parker had 22 points.

Griffin and point guard Chris Paul were lost to injuries previous year, and the Clippers blew a 3-1 series lead against Houston in 2015. He shot 4-for-9 from the floor, 2-for-4 on 3-pointers and didn't turn the ball over. "You just hate for dumb stuff like this to happen when you know how hard somebody works".

But the Grizzlies were always able to respond, such as in this bonkers sequence: Andrew Harrison sprinted down the court to block Patty Mills from behind, which led to an electric Gasol and-one.

In overtime, Kawhi did his best to carry the Spurs to the win with eight points in the overtime period, but Conley's Grizzlies outlasted Leonard's furious effort for the win. "You've got to regroup and get ready for Game 5".

This was the first overtime game in the playoffs. Fizdale said he tried to forget about the business of basketball and just enjoy it.

Frontcourt play: A series that saw LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, and sometimes David Lee controlling the paint, Games 3 and 4 have been all Zack Randolph, Marc Gasol, and JaMychal Green.

The visiting Raptors pulled level with Milwaukee at 2-2 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round series, which continues Monday in Toronto. The Grizzlies snapped a five-game skid themselves in Game 4s.

Kyle Lowry had 14 of his 18 points in the second half for the Raptors, who turned up their intensity before a hostile road crowd after getting embarrassed in a 27-point loss to Milwaukee in Game 3.
