Cavaliers sweep Pacers, Rockets put Thunder on the brink

With Sunday's 106-102 win over the Indiana Pacers, the Cleveland Cavaliers completed the series sweep.

Then, on the other end of the floor, James poked the ball loose from Pacers power forward Thaddeus Young, and when he missed a three-pointer on the other end of the floor, point guard Kyrie Irving pulled down his second offensive rebound of the game and got the ball to reserve guard Kyle Korver.

Chris Paul had 27 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds for Los Angeles, which played without Blake Griffin after he suffered a toe injury in Game 3.

"You have to mentally challenge yourself every year and go out and try to do what's right - putting your body on the line, putting your team on the line and trying to be successful", James said.

James was responsible for 33 of those points, including a three-pointer he hit with just 1:08 left in the game to help Cleveland maintain the lead.

Indiana's Paul George had a shot at a potential tying 3-pointer with 4.6 seconds remaining that the league also determined should not have counted because George also moved his pivot foot before starting his dribble. Stephenson led IN in the first half with 14 points, and Jeff Teague had 10.

The loss marked the fourth time in the last six seasons that the Pacers have been eliminated from the postseason by a LeBron James-led team. "We stop attacking. We start playing the clock, and we just can't do that".

The NBA said Monday that two crucial traveling violations went uncalled in the Cleveland Cavaliers' first-round closeout win in Game 4 over the Indiana Pacers.

Nene made all 12 of his shots and had 10 rebounds.

Game 1 - The Cavaliers took a 12-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Cleveland outscored IN 36-28 during the second period, getting 12 points from James and 12 from Deron Williams.

Houston star James Harden scored just 16 points on 5-of-16 shooting, and he missed all seven of his 3-point attempts.

Over in the Eastern Conference, Isaiah Thomas scored 33 points as Boston Celtics beat Chicago Bulls 104-95. Honestly, it wouldn't have been insane if one or two would've ended with a IN win especially Game 3 when they were up 25 at half.

Westbrook had a triple-double in the first half, making him just the second player in National Basketball Association history with three consecutive playoff triple-doubles.

"What he's been through in the day-to-day is unfathomable the way he has performed on the court", Celtics coach Brad Stevens said.

James finished the first half with 20 points, six rebounds and two assists.

The best-of-seven series resumes Wednesday. Gerald Green hit four 3-pointers and had 18 points to help the Celtics overcome Jimmy Butler's 33 points.
