Four months after Yami Gautam acquired a heritage haveli (Mirror, Dec 1, 2016) in her home state, Himachal Pradesh, the actress is set to spend the summer in her 100-year-old home sitting on a 25-acre plot, some distance from Mandi.
So, obviously, Akshay has taken it upon himself to make sure that the stuntmen and stuntwomen get the recognition they deserve. "When I came to this industry, my first words were that I am a stuntman first, then an actor. For 10 years, I worked as a stuntman in Hindi film industry before getting the opportunity of acting".
Actor Akshay Kumar must have never thought that his national award win will become a hot topic of debate for all the wrong reasons. They've always taken great care of me, and I believe that a great stunt choreographer is the one who takes care of the actor and his stuntman's health and safety.
The actor was speaking to journalists at the Movie Stunt Artists' Association event held in Mumbai where he announced death compensation and insurance for 380 stunt artists between ages 18- 55 years.
Emphasising the importance of the insurance, Panda said: "Akshay came to me saying how could he help these people who are doing stunts in films and get injured and need treatment. So we managed to collaborate with the insurance company to provide the facilities".
In the 1990s, Akshay Kumar was well known for his performance in action movies like the Khiladi film series, Waqt Hamara Hai, Mohra, Elaan, Suhaag, Sapoot and Jaanwar.
