Earlier, on Saturday, the famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to twitter criticising the boring start of the movie.
Wth its weak collections, Noor is struggling to make its place at the box office and is struggling really hard for its existence not only domestically but in the global market as well. Sonakshi's earlier solo starrer, Akira had earned a solid Rs 16.65 crore, looking at Noor's two day figures it won't even be the half of what Akira earned at the end of its opening weekend. Naam Shabana has made Rs 36 crore in three weeks and Begum Jaan's total after one week in release is Rs 17.83 crore. Now it remains to see if the film turns out to be lucky enough on its first weekend. The film received a slow opening at the box office as the film did the less than expected box office business of Rs. 1.54 crores which give the slow start to the film. It's quite clear that people are not interested in watching Sonakshi's journalistic avatar on the big screen.
Also, the ongoing IPL season 10 can be the reason behind no response to the movies.
Directed by Sanhil Sippy, the movie is based on the Pakistani novel "Karachi, You're Killing Me".
Sonakshi Sinha's most anticipated film of the year "Noor" has hit the theaters.
Bollywood's Dabangg girl Sonakshi plays a journalist in Noor. Noor also stars Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli.
