LG G6 set for India launch today: All you need to know

The LG G6 price in India is Rs. 51,990 (MOP), which makes it significantly cheaper than the flagship of rival South Korean company, Samsung.

The company had sent an invitation: "Save the Date - 24th April, 2017 (Monday) to witness the most anticipated launch from the house of LG - The G6 Smartphone".

LG G6 buyers will get a cash back of Rs 10,000 when using HDFC and SBI cards. The panel measures at 5.7-inch and offers a QuadHD+ resolution (2880 x 1440 pixels).

There is a dual-camera setup at the back with two 13 MP rear cameras, one of which has a wide angle lens where as the other one showing normal view.

The LG G6 as all know comes with a new design in comparison to what we saw past year with the LG G5 smartphone.

Though the price of the device for the Indian market is yet to be announced, based on the United States market pricing, the handset could cost up to Rs 50,000.

Front camera: On the front, the LG G6 sports a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. To recall, the LG G6 was unveiled at MWC 2017 and runs runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. At this price point, the smartphone competes against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, which was launched last week in India. Pre-orders can also be made on LG website and offline retailers. LG's Tone Active+ HBS A100 Bluetooth headset is up for grabs at a discount of 50 percent. It was also said that the smartphone might go on sale on 29 April. LG G5 was known for its innovative designs when it announced many new modular parts like add-on camera, called LG Friends, yet it could not lure in many customers in the Indian market.

Processor: The LG G6 is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU. In terms of internal memory, the device comes with 32GB and 64GB options along with a memory card slot that can be expanded up to 2TB. Up front, the smartphone is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. It features OIS 2.0 (optical image stabilisation), EIS (electronic image stabilisation), and PDAF (phase detection autofocus).

Connectivity options for the LG G6 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0.

A non-removable 3300mAh battery powers the device. Also, the G6 has passed the MIL-STD 810G military standard proving that it is highly durable. It bears an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, just like the Samsung Galaxy S8.
