Wenger: League form won't affect FA Cup semi

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is nearly at the same level as Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

City have been unable to sustain a Premier League title challenge to Chelsea and Tottenham in Guardiola's first season as manager and they were also knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage, although they do face Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend.

Other than that, the over 2.5 goals is also a good shout since both teams can score but both defences have big problems.

'When the big, big players go to Barcelona they understand that Lionel Messi is unique. Alexis is an excellent player and I'm so happy how he's playing at Arsenal, particularly this season scoring goals.

"Put Kevin De Bruyne with one year left on his contract and see how many teams [are interested]".

Meanwhile, there is renewed speculation in several UK newspapers that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made Sanchez one of his top transfer targets this summer, as he looks to add a cutting edge to his forward line. "The expectations of the club are as high as possible and are to win the titles that are on the table", Guardiola said. Regardless, if Arsenal win the F.A. Cup it will be another trophy to the Wenger legacy, and it may extend his tenure at Arsenal, or it could be a good way for him to leave the club.

But all eyes will be on Jesus and what role he may play, with Guardiola taking a decision after the team has travelled to London.

Having drawn 2-2 at the Emirates against Pep Guardiola's side earlier this month the boss is expecting a close game and warned his side that they'll have to be alert at the back to suppress the Citizens' considerable array of attacking talent.

Arsenal could still lift their third FA Cup in four seasons and secure a Champions League qualification spot, and Wenger said: 'When you have negative results like we had, it can divide or unite.

He said: "I am a better manager not because I am in the Premier League or in English football, but because I have lost more games than in my recent past". Winning helps you win more because you realize you have that experience.

"Today he will make part of the training with us and he is coming back with his happiness. Sometimes it takes more time".
