Nintendo said that it sold 906,000 Switch units in the USA alone for the month of March, GamesSpot says, which makes the Switch the fastest-selling console in Nintendo's history. Then again, 460,000 people in the USA picked up a copy of Breath of the Wild for the Wii U, which seems like a better move if you simply can't wait for Switch hardware.
Last month, there were estimates that the Nintendo Switch had sold roughly 1.5 million units worldwide. Since launch, Nintendo has struggled to keep up with demand for the Switch, a problem it hopes to rectify by doubling the production of the console for the next fiscal year. It even shows in Nintendo's marketing efforts for the Switch, promoting the console during this year's Super Bowl and hosting demo events across the country.
This is no surprise considering how easily and quickly the Nintendo Switch was broken into even though it was only out for a few days at that time. Nintendo at least admits that they are having supply problems, partly because they didn't expect the Switch to sell this fast. Considering there have only been 906,000 Switches sold, that meant some bought more than one, probably the limited edition and a regular copy.
It is no secret that Payday 2 has pretty much been abandon in the other consoles and since the game has so many bugs that have not been fixed yet, why would they want to port to the Nintendo Switch. We understand that it has been hard for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. "With its various play modes and the innovative features of the Joy-Con controllers, Nintendo Switch provides unique experiences that people can take with them anywhere and share with anyone". Including the launching of the world's most powerful console, the Project Scorpio, alongside an unbelievable lineup of new Xbox One games. The NPD Group reported the big sales number, and also said that the sales surge was accomplished in a non-traditional month for a console launch. However, this one will impact Switch, Wii U and 3DS. With the launch of "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" in April and "Splatoon 2" this July, there are some major exclusive games for the Switch on the horizon. Have you gotten one yet?
