Pence Says Trade Relationship with South Korea is 'Falling Short'

Pence made the remark during a meeting with representatives of the US Chamber of Commerce here before leaving for Japan, the second stopover in his 10-day Asia-Pacific tour.
NY [U.S.A.], April 19: United States Vice President Mike Pence has said North Korea was getting the message that it needed to walk away from its "reckless" nuclear activity.
Days later, in response to a question about the warships, Trump told the Fox Business Network that the US was "sending an armada, very powerful" to North Korea.

"The United States will continue to work with Japan and all of our allies in the region, including South Korea, to confront the most ominous threat posing this region of the world, the regime in North Korea", he said.
South Korea's surplus with the U.S., meanwhile, soared from $15.2 billion to $23.2 billion during the same period, Korea International Trade Association data shows.

"In my discussions with Trump administration officials, I get much less of a concern that we're about to do some kind of a military strike, then the view one gets from the public statements", he said.
"For my part, in some odd way, it's encouraging that they're getting the message", Pence said.

After Pence visited the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea on Monday and warned that "all options are on the table", a senior North Korean official responded by accusing the United States of bringing the countries to the brink of thermonuclear war.
