Fans react to Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic injuries

The Reds supporters were pleased with the injury setback to prolific goal scorer Ibrahimovic and feels they now have an advantage in the race for the Champions League spots.

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly set to miss the rest of the season - and Liverpool fans are delighted with the injury blow to their rivals.

The Swedish striker landed awkwardly on his right leg after attempting to win a header right at the end of normal time on Thursday night as United searched for a victor to send them through to the semi-finals.

'Estimations of time to full recovery will only be possible once definitive treatment plans have been decided after these consultations'.

United would not comment on reports that Ibrahimovic had suffered cruciate ligament damage. He was replaced by Anthony Martial.

Seven goals and four assists in 33 games [22 starts] has been the 21-year-old's modest return this season, a season in which Jose Mourinho has criticised his work-rate and attitude.

At times he has carried the team this season, his form earning him a PFA Player of the Year nomination.

Mourinho also repeated his view that Marcus Rashford, who scored the victor against Anderlecht, should not play for England Under-21s in the summer's European Championship. Mourinho, whose side play Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, said: "We are in trouble".

United now sits fifth in the EPL table, four points adrift from Manchester City in fourth for the final Champions League place and six behind Liverpool in third.
