Deadly Israeli Strikes Target Syria's Quneitra Province

The NDF base was attacked on Sunday in the Naba al-Fawwar area of the Syrian Quneitra province in the Golan Heights, the Times of Israel newspaper reported.

Israeli jets on Friday hit several targets in Syria in response to rocket attacks from the war-torn country, the military said in a written statement.

Al-Jazeera is reporting that Israel has struck a Syrian military base on the outskirts of Quneitra.

The fire triggered sirens across the Golan Heights Regional Council. Three mortar shells fell and exploded in Israel Friday afternoon. There were no injuries or damage.

An IDF spokesperson said the army was not familiar with the incident. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

The IDF has frequently retaliated against stray projectile strikes inside Israeli territory.

Israel confirmed its involvement in only one of the strikes, after the Syrian regime fired anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli jets, triggering warning sirens in Israel's Jordan valley region. "When we detect attempts to transfer advanced weapons to Hezbollah, and we have the intelligence and feasibility to carry out an operation, we will work to prevent it".
