Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics

According to the Bulls, the injury will not require surgery.

What this means for the Celtics is huge. The Bulls were absolutely brilliant at this in the first two games, mostly because of the play of Rajon Rondo. Chicago also split with Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol, helping clear the way for young players such as Bobby Portis to get more time.

Chicago Bulls guard Rajon Rondo (9) drives towards the basket past Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas (4) during the second quarter of a first-round NBA playoff basketball game in Boston, Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Although the Celtics finished 53-29 in the regular season, it's the lowest win total by a No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference since the Detroit Pistons in 2006-2007 in a full season.

He scored 33 points in Game 1 but hit 6 of 15 from the field and went 7-for-13 from the line in Game 2, both Bulls' victories.

"I think, in a way, they were ambushed a little bit, not thinking Butler, Rondo and Wade were Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen", said Gorman. For the past two games, Celtics doesn't seem to know how to adjust with Chicago Bulls. Everything has gone right for the 8-seed thus far and Rondo's been a big part of that.

"It's not where we were expecting to be, at all", Celtics big man Al Horford said of his team's 0-2 deficit. But damn. I mean, we wish we had him, but we don't.

"We're all we got", Smart said. You just have to be solid on him (defensively), not really gamble.

The Celtics top gun, who went home to Tacoma, Washington to be with his family on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time), finally opened up and released a statement through the team's social media account expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming love and support he got since his sister died in a single-car accident last Saturday. That's a nice bonus for the Thunder (and potentially Roberson, who will be a restricted free agent this summer), but it underscores what they're not getting from players they normally count on for scoring. We understand what we have and we understand what our capabilities are, but we also understand that we're playing a tough team.
