American's fast reaction to the incident could be helpful, said brand consultant Allen Adamson, CEO of BrandSimple.
A video posted online appears to show an American Airlines employee get into a shouting match with a passenger on a flight bound to Dallas-Fort Worth.
While the footage doesn't depict the alleged episode as described on Facebook, Mr. Adyanthaya managed to capture more than two minutes of video leading up to and including the flight attendant's taunts.
A man named Surain Adyanthaya posted a video and a picture of the incident on Facebook on Friday, saying, "OMG!"
The attendant quickly responds, "hey, you stay out of this".
As the aircraft sat on the tarmac in San Francisco, waiting to take off for Dallas, Texas, the incident escalated. We're told in removing the stroller, the woman was struck while holding her baby. and almost ignited a brawl between the employee and another passenger.
"No airline wants to be seen as being anti-consumer or anti-passenger".
"Just give me back my stroller please", she says tearfully. He tells the flight attendant, "Hey bud, hey bud". A pilot got between the two men and tried to deescalate the incident. He also challenges Fierro: "Hit me".
"You can't use violence with a baby", the woman says.
"What's the guy's name who did that with the stroller?" the man says. That's what just fired me up, so that was it.
From the video, it's unclear why the woman is distraught. A male attendant apparently grabbed a stroller away from a woman travelling with two children.
Moments later, the male flight attendant returns to the plane.
The flight was grounded for an hour after the incident, Morgan said, and the crew did not acknowledge that a crew member was involved in the issue.
Facebook user Surain Adyanthaya said the incident started after a flight attendant "violently took a stroller from a lady with her baby", striking the woman and nearly hitting the baby. The flight attendant yanked a stroller out of a young mom's hands, according to witnesses, causing her to cry, and then repeatedly said "hit me" to another passenger who tried to intervene.
A FLIGHT attendant was filmed challenging a passenger to a fight after a sobbing mum was allegedly "whacked" on board.
Tom Watson, who was sitting in the first row after first class, said the woman was sitting near the back of the plane and had brought the stroller down near her seat.
"The flight attendant wrestled the stroller away from the woman, who was sobbing, holding one baby with the second baby in a vehicle seat on the ground next to her", Morgan told KTLA-TV.
CBS 11 showed the video to Awa Ngiaye, who's taking a ten hour flight to France with her ten-day-old daughter - by herself. A short time later, a flight attendant approached the woman and told her she can not have the stroller on the plane.
