Samsung to launch S8 and S8+ in India on April 19

No information regarding the price and availability has been made available yet but it is expected that the smartphones will go on sale on April 21 in India, same as the global release date.

For most of late last year and early this year, the Samsung Galaxy S8 duo was the pair that had been dominating headlines everywhere.

Samsung enthusiasts are about to get hyped up on the Galaxy S8 Bixby Assistant news, unfortunately, the tech giant announced that the personal assistant is still a work in progress. Samsung also added dust resistance, on top of the phone's existing waterproofing. The tweet posted by Samsung takes you to the official Samsung online store where you can pre-register for the soon to be released flagship smartphones. However, a third, tougher version usually comes out with the suffix "Active". The Galaxy S8 sports a QHD+ 5.8-inch display, while the S8+ has a bigger 6.2-inch screen.

Samsung-centric outlet SamMobile reports that Samsung has a Galaxy S8 Active in tow and it will likely release the rugged smartphone as an AT&T exclusive.

After coming in behind Apple during the fourth quarter of past year, Samsung grabbed the top spot in global smartphone market share in the first quarter of 2017, according to a report released today by the Taiwan-based market research firm TrendForce.

While there aren't details yet on what Samsung will do to strengthen the S8, the S7 Active's key additions were a "shatter-resistant" screen and a larger battery. Curved screen Active would purportedly be the first time, but the Active variant might feature a flat screen instead.

As for the pricing, T-Mobile is selling the regular 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 for $750, or $30/month for a period of two years. Further reports on Samsung's acquiring the "Galaxy X" trademark has also been confirmed that brings up the possibility for the device to launch in the future.

Let's have a look at Galaxy S8 pricing in the table below.
