Samsung Galaxy S8 Smartphones launched in India, prices starts at 57900 INR

Talking of the Galaxy S8, the smartphone is powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 8895 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Both the smartphones will be exclusively available on Flipkart, Samsung stores and at major retail stores. The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will also be retailed by Reliance Jio that's offering a double data plan to prospective buyers that includes 56GB of data for 309 INR (approximately $5) per month. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ also come with a Windows Continuum-like feature called Samsung DeX that allows you to run supportive mobile apps on a full-scale monitor for enhanced productivity.

For security, Samsung now offers Iris scanner and facial recognition in addition to several other standard features like a fingerprint scanner, pattern lock, and password.

However, the red tint issue comes at a very bad time for Samsung especially after Galaxy Note 7's battery issue past year.

Given that Samsung is still one of the most popular smartphone brands worldwide even after their Note 7 fiasco a year ago, its latest product - an artificial intelligence powered smart assistant - gets a big market to be tested.

The Galaxy S8 comes with an intuitive soft key, in place of the home key, that has a pressure sensor embedded under the display.

Both the phones also have a separate dedicated button to trigger Bixby - Samsung's response to Google Assistant and Apple Siri.

Kuo claims that Galaxy Note 8 is going to be Samsung's first ever dual camera phone, and it will be more than able to match the soon to be iPhone 8. But we can assume the price will be around 50K INR considering the price of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7+. That's unfortunate, because there will be (many) users who will want this exact functionality to be available, because, let's face it, not everyone wants to use a personal assistant. The phones are IP68 water and dust resistant, MicroSD support up to 256GB, always-on display and have fast and wireless charging capabilities.
