The Los Angeles Clippers are shooting 31.8 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free throw line.
For the first time this series, ESPN 2 will televise Game 3 of Jazz-Rockets at 10 p.m. ET. Blake Griffin bullied whoever was guarding him, curling off a screen perfectly to shake Favors, splitting the raised arms of Ingles and Diaw or simply backing Joe Johnson into no man's land for two, totaling nine points in the quarter.
They need their other two stars to step up offensively, as they did get a lot from the short supporting cast.
Together with center DeAndre Jordan, it is the foursome's sixth straight postseason appearance and they have never gone past the Western Conference semifinals. Oh, and it would be nice if the bigs played a bit of defense. But the Jazz don't know when he'll be back, though they're hopeful it will come this series. This would be the closest the Jazz would get, though, as Paul immediately responded with a 28-foot three-point jumper, an emphatic block on guard George Hill, a steal against Hill and another basket to push the lead back to eight. That was his original position before being moved to power forward, somewhat permanently, as Gobert grew into the starter in recent seasons. "It may be a similar game where, all of a sudden, some of those go in and it feels better". The Clippers have still won and covered in five of their last seven meetings with the Jazz. Game 2 was very much the same statistically, but it's all too obvious that his knee is still bothering him.
It was a strong showing in a game that Clippers guard Raymond Felton termed earlier in the day a "must-win". "Whatever adjustments we make, it's not going to replicate Rudy".
Game 2: 19-8 start for L.A.as the Jazz get shredded inside without Gobert.
