Friday the 13th: The Game Gets Official Release Date

Responding to Twitter questions today about the release date coming in the middle of the year, the makers of the game apologized and said that getting Friday the 13th: The Game through various ratings boards "took a little longer than anticipated".

Gun Media and IllFonic are just about ready to release Friday the 13th: The Game. It will be debuting on multiple platforms which includes the Xbox One, PS4, and the PC where it will be priced at $40. The footage also showcases different locations across the game's dark and creepy camp ground setting that players can explore as well. The map of Camp Crystal Lake is identical to the film series' grounds, adding to the already nostalgic experience based in the mid-80's. Think you can take Jason on? The multiplayer component to the game will pit one player as Jason against up to seven people as counselors.

The Game will deliver a terrifying combination of features created to satisfy gamers and fans of the Friday the 13th franchise alike. The game gained an overwhelming amount of attention and positive feedback from its outstanding campaign on Kickstarter and Backerkit in 2015. The development team had earlier collaborated on the unreleased survival horror-themed game Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp and plans to integrate much of that design into the new Friday the 13th game.

Sadly they couldn't coincide the release with a Friday the 13th and have settled for 26 May which thankfully is a Friday.
