EASTER ROUNDUP: Egg hunts and more coming to the North County

St. John's Reformed Church of Loysburg will hold an Easter egg hunt for children of the church and the community at 1 p.m. April 15.

The group was excited to see the Easter Bunny as well who sat in the Clawson Trojan home stands to have photos made with kids and families alike. All ages are welcome and the cost is $10 per family of four.

Keller's Butter just announced the company - along with a big old bunny - will host an Easter egg hunt for adults in City Hall's Dilworth Plaza on Tuesday, April 11.

This is the 11th year for the Culver's egg hunt, which is open to children up to age 12. An active outdoor egg race will also take place, weather permitting.

Kids from ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and children with special needs all had their own plots of grass to hunt for eggs. A crowd favorite, the event will feature an up close and personal meet and greet with the Easter Bunny himself. The egg can be likened to the tomb from which Christ arose, and finding an egg during an egg hunt can be related to the joy the women had when they reached the tomb and found Jesus was no longer there. The hunt will be held at 11 a.m. and is sponsored by the Wagoner Ministerial Alliance.

"Children who are too young, under 16 years old and are visually impaired and would like to have a dog - they can get one of our canine buddy dogs and learn to feed it and train it and walk with it". There will be different age groups again this year.

On Saturday, 24 seniors gathered at the Whitefish Community Center for a morning of hunting for Easter eggs and other egg-related games to compete for prizes.

"It was fantastic for the kids, brought my kids out here today to support it, and it was a great event for the kids, and I need more people to come out next year and support it", said Robert Sledge. "I can't believe how many eggs they put out for the kids". After the Easter story, there will be a huge egg hunt with candy and prize-filled eggs for age appropriate groups.
